Scholarships and Financial Aid

The Institution ensures the availability of various kinds of scholarships, free ships, and concessions to students. They are broadly of two kinds: state govt. and central govt. sponsored. The scholarships offered by the government are disbursed to the deserving at the beginning of the first term of the program. The College management ensures prompt distribution to the beneficiaries. Along with the financial aid available from Central and State Governments, the College has also instituted scholarships to meritorious students, economically backward students, and students excelling in co-curricular activities.

The management takes the initiative in providing financial assistance to the needy and deserving students by offering fee concessions, subsidized hostel accommodation, uniforms, and other study materials, etc. Special attention is given to socially and economically backward communities. With this objective, fee concessions, remedial coaching, free ships, books, umbrellas, uniforms, pens, pencils, calculators, etc., are provided besides the Government-sanctioned schemes.

Assistance from various departments, faculties, and the principal is also available to those students whose family income is very low.

Functions of the Scholarship Cell

• Identifying Scholarship Opportunities: The Scholarship Cell researches and identifies various scholarship programs available from government agencies, private organizations, foundations, and other sources that align with the academic pursuits and needs of the students at Bhadrak Autonomous College.
• Providing Information and Guidance: The Scholarship Cell acts as a central resource hub for students, providing comprehensive information and guidance on available scholarship opportunities, eligibility criteria, application procedures, and deadlines. They conduct regular workshops, seminars, and information sessions to educate students about scholarship options and assist them in navigating the application process.
• Assisting with Application Process: The Scholarship Cell offers personalized assistance to students throughout the scholarship application process. This includes helping students fill out application forms, gather required documents, draft compelling personal statements or essays, and secure recommendation letters.
• Reviewing and Evaluating Applications: Once scholarship applications are submitted, the Scholarship Cell meticulously reviews and evaluates them based on the predefined criteria, which may include academic performance, extracurricular activities, leadership potential, and financial need.
• Maintaining Scholarship Records: The Scholarship Cell maintains accurate records of scholarship applications, awards, recipients, and disbursements. They also monitor the academic progress of scholarship recipients and provide reports to scholarship providers as required.
