About Department
Bhadrak Autonomous College, Bhadrak was established in 1948 but the Department of Zoology came into existence at a later stage in the year 1954 and started imparting teaching in Zoology at the Intermediate Science level. In the year 1960, the Bachelor level teaching in Zoology (Pass) was started. A new phase of life was ushered in with the opening of Honours Level Teaching in 1967. Postgraduate in Zoology and Microbiology was introduced in the year 2018 to widen the horizon of knowledge in the process of teaching and learning in one place. Presently the department can reasonably boast of an illustrious tradition of academic activities spread over for about 45 years producing several luminaries who earned fame and distinction throughout the state, country and abroad.
Vision
The vision of the Zoology Department at Bhadrak Autonomous College is to promote the knowledge of animal sciences through quality educational practices and cutting-edge research incorporating progressive pedagogical practices. We aim to nurture a dynamic learning environment that empowers students with knowledge, critical thinking, and practical skills. Our commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration, and global engagement will enable us to produce graduates who are well-prepared to address the ever-evolving challenges and opportunities in the field of zoology. We aspire to be recognized as a premier institution, both nationally and internationally, for our contributions to the field of zoology.
