About Department
The Department of Microbiology was established in 2018. The department offers a 2-year MSc Microbiology course (self-financing). The selections for admission are made based on a common entrance test conducted by the Odisha State Higher Education Council through the Student Academic Management System (SAMS).
Vision
The vision of the department is to develop an advanced academic centre in the field of Microbiology and to generate scientific manpower who can fulfil the growing need in the field of microbial industries and academics. This department provides an environment and facility for research and innovation in the field of Microbiology.
Mission
- • To provide a student-friendly learning environment that allows students to achieve academic excellence in all aspects of Microbiology.
- • To provide basic knowledge about microbiology and its applications in different areas such as medical, industrial, environmental, agriculture and food industry.
- • To develop the ability of students to apply the gained knowledge and skills through project works in their research career, industrial jobs or developing as successful entrepreneurs.
- • To enable the students to identify the challenges of society and address them innovatively through the knowledge and skills they have acquired.
