About Department
The Department of Computer Science at Bhadrak Autonomous College, Bhadrak, established in the academic session 1999-2000, aims to be a centre of excellence in computer science education. Since its inception, the department has offered a B.Sc. Computer Science (Hons.) program with an initial intake capacity of 32 students. Over the years, the undergraduate program has grown in popularity, currently accommodating 48 students—a testament to its strong reputation among aspiring computer science professionals. The department is committed to delivering a comprehensive curriculum that balances theoretical foundations with practical applications. This approach ensures students acquire the skills and knowledge required to excel in the ever-evolving field of technology. The department’s success is driven by its dedicated faculty, which includes one regular Assistant Professor, one Programmer, and two Guest Faculty members. These educators bring a wealth of academic expertise and industry experience, fostering the academic and professional growth of students. To facilitate hands-on learning, the department is equipped with two state-of-the-art computer laboratories. These labs feature 30 high-performance desktop computers and a powerful workstation server, enabling students to engage in programming, software development, and experimental projects under expert guidance. Additionally, the department houses a well-stocked seminar library with the latest books in computer science, providing students with access to resources for exploring emerging trends and advancing their knowledge. A key feature of the department is its focus on holistic student development. Beyond academics, it offers personalized counselling and career guidance sessions to help students make informed decisions and pursue opportunities aligned with their goals and aspirations. This proactive approach ensures that students are well-prepared for the challenges and opportunities of the professional world.
